Sasquatch Sunset Review

Hmm. Well, Sasquatch fans should definitely go see it. The portrayal of the famous cryptid Bigfoot species somewhat aligns with what many people actually think is the truth, but the crudeness and simpleminded ways of the Bigfoot shown is surely not as heavy in real life as the film portrays. If the Bigfeet hairy ones are indeed real, of course. Evidence to that end can be found at: UnDebunkingBigfoot.blogspot.com

But I digress. 

If Sasquatch were so enthralled with the sight of a road for instance, as to cause massive confusion and instant and blatant territorial pissing, shitings, and hollerings, then I highly doubt these beings would have remained as hidden as well as they have. The intelligence level is certainly beyond that shown in portions of the film and as some contend, is even beyond human capabilities!

Meaning... this might be an spiritual, interdimentional, or even alien creature, or something wild like that, but whatever the case, they're no dummies as sometimes portrayed in the film. However, some reported Sasquatch behavior such as whoops and would knocks for communication over vast distances is portrayed nicely. 

The film is well made and funny, but will be seen as way over the top in many places for what I suspect is a decent portion of the movie going public. So heads up, there is a very gratuitous Squatchy sex scene and penises are shown throughout the movie. Lots of poo and pee and smelling of crotches, etc. Also, this moving picture show contains not one line of actual dialogue, so be prepared to feel weird and loud munching on popcorn and slurping soda during the quiet parts without music in the theater. 

Two and a half stars out of 4 overall. Pretty solid, but at times gross and bizarre film, which I think will be more enjoyable at home than in the theaters. A cult classic contender for sure. 

That's not to say you shouldn't go see it, you should. There is no political agenda and it's an original concept which is scarce these days. I personally like edgy and weird and so it was fine with me for the most part, absent a few face palm moments, but that line of decency  being crosssed is surely thinner for others. Even if that is the case, these possibly perceived "flaws" do not overshadow the entire production, which I'm going to look at as an rauncy, behind the scenes, nature mockumentary, unofficial prequel to Harry and the Hendersons.

A few months ago I was sent the animated sci-fi film Trump vs the Illuminati for review. It was a weird watch but nothing I could recommend. A few days after watching it I was informed that the film was actually a sequel to the 2020 film Bigfoot vs the Illuminati. It was eating at me that I didn’t watch the first film so I did a little looking and found it streaming on Tubi. Before I took a dive into the last two films in this series I decided to check out the first one.

**Spoiler Alert** The film takes place several centuries in the future when the Earth has been devastated and over harvested. Mankind is afloat in space with no planet to call their own while the evil reptilian alien forces known as the Illuminati as sworn a war against them. When things looks down for the human race they turn to the elusive bigfoot as their last hope for survival. **Spoiler Alert**

I went into this one know how bad Trump vs the Illuminati was but it still didn’t prepare me for what I was about to watch. This is the kind of movie that I could see myself really enjoying but it is done in such a way that it wasn’t as fun as it could have been.

The voice acting in this one is very unenthused and they don’t really match their characters. The voice actors create some interesting voices but they don’t match the film at all. The movie itself is a little serious in tone and the voice acting completely ruins what little bit of atmosphere the film is able to pull together. The story for this one could be so much fun but by adding all characters like Stalin, Crowley, Van Helsing, and so on makes what could be a decent movie feel goofy as hell. When you take the goofy characters and mix it with the voice acting you get a movie you wish would end before it actually does.

Finally, I really like the animation in this one. The scenery all looks amazing and I liked the way the characters looked aside from bigfoot. The animation is really impressive but I find it extremely funny watching the character “talk” without opening their mouths. I dont know if this is something the animators forgot to do or didn’t know how to do but it makes the film feel lazy. Overall, Bigfoot vs the Illuminati is a movie I could see myself loving but the voice acting and the goofy characters made it a tough one to finish. Skip it.
